Bescheiden en luxueus was het uitgangspunt van interieurarchitect Jean-Philippe Nuel bij de nieuwe vormgeving van het voormalige ziekenhuis aan de oever van de Rhône. De prachtige, classicistische façade is afkomstig uit de 18e eeuw en lange tijd gold het gebouw als mooiste Franse hospice. De werkzaamheden hebben zes jaar geduurd, wat de grootste particuliere renovatiemaatregel was van een object in Frankrijk dat onder monumentenzorg valt. Nu biedt het hotel 144 kamers en suites voor de hoogste eisen; een geslaagd voorbeeld van de combinatie van modern design en historische grandeur.
