Specification Manager Residential & Hospitality

Based: Central London with flexibility to travel nationally and internationally, as required

with excellent time-management skills, and you pay close attention to detail. You enjoy
analysing regulatory and product trends, spotting opportunities, and staying ahead of issues.

Summary of Role:

The Specification Manager will be responsible for securing product specifications in the
premium residential and hospitality sectors across the UK and internationally. You will
influence the architect and design community, engage at early-design stages, provide
technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle, managing specification pipelines from
selection to delivery. 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, designers and other key
    influencers to ensure project specifications.
  • Engage early in design stages to influence product choice and specification decisions
    using the full Bette product portfolio while considering project budgets and design
    requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance: review drawings and plans, ensure compliance with
    building regulations, material performance, sustainability and other relevant
    standards.
  • Manage and maintain a specification pipeline using our CRM tool: monitor, track and
    report relevant information to ensure accuracy and realistic timelines.
  • Deliver presentations, CPD seminars or workshops to the architect and design
    community to promote product features and build credibility.
  • Identify new opportunities through hospitality, design and architectural publications,
    construction websites and project networks.
  • Attend relevant industry and trade shows or events.
  • Maintain exceptional product knowledge to propose the most appropriate solutions
    for any design brief or project requirement.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a specification, technical-sales or design-led sales role within
    the bathroom industry.
  • Strong technical understanding: ability to interpret architectural/engineering drawings,
    knowledge of product performance, compliance, regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: comfortable presenting, training,
    influencing decision-makers in the design community.
  • Highly organised: able to manage multiple projects/specification pipelines/projects,
    diary, deadlines, and documentation with high attention to detail.
  • Good analytical skills: able to spot market and regulatory trends, competitor activity,
    and new opportunities.

Nice-to-have:

  • Existing network or contacts among specifiers, architects, designers in your region or
    sector.
  • Experience with technical software (e.g. CAD or drawing packages), specification
    databases (e.g. NBS or similar), or tools for tracking specifications and leads.
  • Comfortable with hybrid working, travelling to client / site meetings and attending at
    trade shows or events.
