What do rating group B under DIN 51097 and rating group C under DIN EN 16165 mean?

The classification groups B and C describe the slip resistance of surfaces in wet, barefoot areas. Testing is carried out on an inclined plane under defined wet conditions. The greater the angle of inclination achieved, the higher the slip resistance. Class B covers an angle of inclination of between 18° and 24°. It was used, amongst other things, in accordance with the former DIN 51097 for the assessment of surfaces in wet areas where people walk barefoot. Class C applies to an angle of inclination of over 24° and thus represents the highest class for wet, barefoot areas. Testing is now carried out in accordance with DIN EN 16165, Annex A. Which DIN is relevant here?

DIN 51097 "Wet barefoot areas" (A,B,C) and DIN 51130 "Oil contaminated work areas with work shoes" (R9 - R13) are often mentioned in this context. We think that when it comes to bathing and showering, you should focus primarily on DIN 51097, as it explicitly deals with the behaviour of bare feet on wet surfaces. (- The behaviour of oil-laden work shoes, as dealt with in DIN 51130, certainly only plays a role in showers in special cases).
